Ad Astra - Karl Eller '52

Upsilon Alpha Chapter of Phi Gamma Delta at the University of Arizona is deepley sorrowed by the loss of one its greatest Fijis, Karl Eller.  Karl passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 10, 2019, at the age of 90.  Karl pledged Fiji in 1949 and was one of two surving members of the Pledge Class.  Roman DeSanctis who resides in Boston, Massachusetts, is now the only surviving member.  Karl and Roman were best friends since pledges in 1949.

Karl was instrumental in securing the ground (1801 E. 1st St) on which the current Fiji house was built in 2001.  He was also a major contributor to the overall cost of the house.  He maintained his Fiji connections thru the Summer outings in Southern California every August.  Additional tributes will be forthcoming.

Karl is survied by his wife, Stevie, their two children, Scott and Elissa Goodman, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  His presence at Fiji functions such as the Pig Dinner and August gatherings in La Jolla, will be greatly missed, but we’re counting on Stevie to carry his Fiji flag!!

Perge!
